ZirconfleX engineering and consultancy is targeted to provide hardware and software for electronic systems. Whether you have an idea, raw concept, specification we can help with the realisation of each step of the project until production in order to minimise the total time to market. ZirconfleX develops full projects from idea till production but can be engaged in each stage of a project to assist with particular project elements or stages, and work together with project development teams.

Another important part of ZirconfleX work and offering is redesign, upgrade, refurbishing, improvement, or solving of obsolessence issue with existing hardware and/or software. From its most basic format to the full blown packet. Most standalone task are about brainstorming, feasibility study, component selection, Creation of specifications, training, documentation. The standalone tasks are in many cases extended to System design, architecture definition and partitioning and later on to Development of the project. Consulting is also offered for all projects having to do with redesign, refurbishing, improvement, miniaturisation or other of existing hardware and software.

Development

From idea to workable design. During the development cycle a close working relationship is promoted, initially to ensure that specifications and design particularities are understood by all parties, then ongoing contact and design reviews allow progress monitoring and passing of comments to steer to project. Having a close working relationship is especcially important for update, refurbish, ... projects.

With each project complete documentation is generated from design specification to user guide.

Design

Being a small company, development and design are done using Open Source tools. We use selected tools known already for years and have in a lot of cases helped to improve them in many aspects. In other cases we have build our own add-ons or interfaces into the tools to make them do exactly what's required. Redesign

Under redesign is understood everything necessary to bring a existing design to a new level of hardware or software. Redesign, upgrade, refurbishing or other actions are often needed to keep existing designs in shape (speed, size, cost). Another reason for action is obsolescence of used components.

Zirconflex can help in all cases. We can help find. propose and/or evaluate new components to allow existing hardware to become faster, more compact and cheaper. Fully redesign existing hardware or redesign parts of existing hardware and propose/implement solutions to use new components in existing designs..

Products

We have developed and are still extending a very modular embedded system (Qubriq) based on the mechanical PC104 form-factor. This allows building very modular systems where it is possible to easily swap out components as the microcontroller, memory or other components.

Most of todays hardware and software development tools have a screen filling interface consisting of many small windows. The GUI interface shows at any time every function the tool can perform, even it is not needed or wanted. We have developed an intuitive interface, not screen filling, less demanding and able to provide at the same time more information.
